Maria Zegarac

Maria Zegarac is the Executive Director of Hopewell Children’s Homes located in Guelph, ON.  Hopewell, celebrating its 40th anniversary on February 5, 2023, supports individuals living with a developmental disability.  In service to Hopewell, Maria commits to being the voice of and supporting those who are marginalized and face systemic barriers in our community and doing so with compassion, empathy, respect, equality and individuality.

Prior to joining Hopewell, Maria worked in various sectors holding senior financial roles, with the last 13 years focused on serving not for profit organizations, bringing stability and enhanced financial oversight leading to more effective strategic planning and decision making.  Maria is a Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA) having originally attained her Certified Management Accountant (CMA) designation shortly after graduating from Brock University with a Bachelor of Business Administration degree.  Her belief in continuous learning led Maria to also pursue and successfully graduate from the Executive Leadership Program offered through the Rotman School of Management.

Maria volunteers her time by serving on various Boards; in addition to the Re-Imagine Ontario Board, Maria is also a Director on the Workforce Planning Hamilton board.

Maria lives in Dundas, Ontario with her husband, Mike and sons, Alex and Josh.
